All PCC electrical panels must have at least a 36-inch clearance area as indicated by signs posted. These signs are not a suggestion, rather it is a requirement of OSHA regulation contained in 29 CFR 1910.303(g)(1) which reads:

“Space about electric equipment. Sufficient access and working space shall be provided and maintained for all electric equipment to permit ready and safe operation and maintenance of such equipment.”

Remember to keep electrical panels clear from blockage

The regulation then provides a table of the required clear depth of working space.

All of the PCC panels are covered under Condition A which are highlighted above.

Condition A reads:

Exposed live parts on one side and no live or grounded parts on the other side of the working space.

Do not place items in front of electrical panels for any reason nor for any amount of time.
