Special benefit for Furloughed Employees

I am very excited to share big news for our furloughed employees receiving Hawaii base unemployment insurance. Keep an eye out in the mail. You will be receiving a $500 dining card for use at any restaurant (we strongly suggest Pounders 😊) 

The Hawaii Restaurant Association in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and the State of Hawaii is excited to announce The Hawaii Restaurant Card. 

The Hawai‘i Restaurant Card is a $500 prepaid debit card that contains the money you are receiving as a result of an economic relief program. The Hawai‘i Restaurant Card can be used for purchases of food and beverages at eating establishments, restaurants, and fast-food restaurants in the State of Hawai‘i. The Hawai‘i Restaurant Card is funded by the State of Hawai‘i, 

Hawai‘i residents who opened an initial Unemployment Insurance (“UI”) claim on or after March 1, 2020; certified that their job loss is due to the COVID-19 pandemic (This applies to all PCC workers who have been furloughed); and received UI benefits during the month of September 2020, are eligible for this program. There is no need to apply. 

I have included a flyer that outlines a discount for all who use their Hawaii Restaurant Card at Pounders.  Think of all the Ulu Mash, Pizza, Kalbi, Shrimp Chowder Bowls you can get with $500.  😊
