Sharing gratitude for answered prayers on behalf of Hawaii

Aloha PCC Ohana!

In preparing for Hurricane Douglas, a good friend of our family posted the following excerpt from 1 Nephi 18:21 on her Facebook page “…And it came to pass that I prayed unto the Lord; and after I had prayed the winds did cease, and the storm did cease, and there was a great calm.”

I have no doubt this earnest and heartfelt request from Nephi to the Lord was very much like our own yesterday as we, along with thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands, dare I say millions, prayed for the safety and wellbeing of those who dwell upon these “isles of the sea”.

May we remember with thanks and gratitude that even when it seems hopeless, the Lord stands ready to hear and answer our prayers, according to his will.
