Many changes, but the spirit remains the same

Many changes, but the spirit remains the same

Aloha my PCC Ohana!

I hope you had a great weekend. I hope you don’t mind me sharing a few random thoughts with you…

We have now been closed for 54 days. That is 51 days longer than we have ever been closed before. Wow!

I am delighted that most of you who were furloughed have already received your unemployment benefits from the State and Federal governments for the week of May 4 to 9. For those of you who have not, please check with human resources for assistance in finding out why there is a delay.

Student Worker

We appreciate all of you!

For those of you still working, including our student employees, thank you for making a real difference at the PCC. It is look so much better in so many ways. Your hard work is really paying off!

Over the last five years, I have come to love and appreciate John and Susan Tanner. They have not only been marvelous leaders for BYU-Hawaii but they have simply been choice servants of our Heavenly Father. John and Susan have always been extremely supportive of the PCC and have delighted in seeing their students working, learning and growing at the Center. I will truly miss them.

Tanners Kauwe and Holland

Brother Kauwe bumps elbows with Elder Holland at last week’s devotional while the Tanners look on

Needless to say, I am also very excited for the arrival of Keoni Kauwe as the new president of BYU-Hawaii. To have a Hawaiian presiding at BYU-Hawaii is truly remarkable. I look forward to working closing with President Kauwe in his new assignment.

Dallin H Oaks

Elder Dallin H. Oaks speaks at tomorrow’s BYUH devotional at 11am

Finally, President Dallin H. Oaks will be this week’s devotional speaker for BYU-Hawaii. His talk is entitled “Anxiety in Stressful Times”. If you can, I would encourage you to listen to this prophet of the Lord as he addresses a very relevant topic for our time.

Mahalo!

President Grace
