Live by Faith, Not by Fear

We are living in a time where the unknown exists and whisperings of fear and doubt envelopes our nation, our state, our families and loved ones. It is extremely difficult and emotional to face trials that have unknown answers. President Gordon B. Hinkley shared the following about these times of extreme difficulty:

“Now, brothers and sisters, we must do our duty, whatever that duty might be. Peace may be denied for a season. Some of our liberties may be curtailed. We may be inconvenienced. We may even be called on to suffer in one way or another. But God our Eternal Father will watch over this nation and all of the civilized world who look to Him. He has declared, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord” (Ps. 33:12). Our safety lies in repentance. Our strength comes of obedience to the commandments of God… Are these perilous times? They are. But there is no need to fear. We can have peace in our hearts and peace in our homes… “

“We have a duty,” he continues, “that during these times of stress and concern, we must seek Him, make changes where appropriate and hold strong. The cries are real, and the tears seem painful at times. We endeavor to find peace and that is where the Lord’s warm embrace exist.”

The Polynesian Cultural Center is a beautiful garden we all tend to and at this time we are facing the short absence of hands, hearts and smiles who have helped care for this special vineyard of the Lord. You ALL are on our minds and in our hearts. As an Ohana, I personally feel we will return in strength, more unified and more aware that the unexpected can happen when we least expect it! We are all here to hold hands as we continue and strive to be obedient, make changes that are needed and look to HIM who is our God.
